This is ridiculous, since moving, my connection went from 2MBp/s download to a 576KBp/s down with a 1.2MBp/s upload?

@BTCare @BTCare No upgrades planned where I live – in the East. It says my line can support 2.5 M/ps DL. I’m getting a ridiculously slow speed ranging from 0.06 to 0.13

right, My BT master socket is not like that one. It’s a square one with nothing but a BT logo. There is some input inside, with bent pins – not straight … so nothing will go in. I was told this is a faulty socket I’ll need to replace?

although i don’t work for BT, I do work for an ISP that provides ADSL services, and I can vouch for the sound advice given here. i can’t believe some of the moronic comments by other users. wtf is AM3 socket? is that AMD Socket AM3? that has nothing to do with NTE5 socket, apart from it might be made from the same kind of plastic, maybe…

Once you have your hub in the test socket, turn it off and back on. Check your hubs connection speed (there are vids on the BTCare channel showing you how) and see if it has gone up. If it has your throughput speed will follow, this may take a few days depending on how dramatic the change is. If you don’t see much of an improvement get intouch with BTcare on twitter.

What is more simple? Old fashion wiring. You don’t have to tell me about micro filters I had to tell one of technicians at BT Broadband world, that it was micro filter and I asked could send one out in the past. So stop being an idiot. When you have a cable hanging out of the socket with a weight on the end. Do you know what happens to wire inside? If you did you would have installed my socket by now. Hence the article I have done showing next stage on Sockets.

Hi, some customers like to have their home network set up to have equipment in convenient places, in this video we are just helping people work out if they have a faulty piece of equipment, sometimes something as simple as a dodgy microfilter can cause lots of problems! something as simple as a dodgy microfilter can cause lots of proplems!

Why are you going through the options of adding more connecting equipment? The less equipment you use that is for the internet, the less loss of internet speed. Why don’t you make AM3 socket similar to one I got.

If you have tried the tips in this video and are still experiencing slow speeds we can take a look at your line to make sure it is performing as well as it can. Could you do a speed test (check out our video Understand broadband speed: Using BT Speedtester) and send BTCare a message on Twitter and we will look into it for you.
